So this man works at some office job all day, enduring an asshole of a boss, and then he gets off work, barely eats a snack, and then drives a cab all night. And he’s doing this every day, just to make enough money to feed and educate his son, he’s trying hard to give his son a good life. He’s enduring humiliation during the day and risking his life every night just so his son can have a chance at a better life.
And his son? His son watches TV, and follows up on sports programs, he supports the local football team, and thinks those football players, getting paid millions and offered hundred of thousands of pounds in scoring bonusesĀ – he thinks they are heroes. He idolizes them, has their posters up on the wall, and thinks they’re the heroes, and he’s ashamed of his dad, the lowly cab driver, he thinks his dad is a loser and that it’s those football players that are heroes.
Just kill me now and let’s be done with this farce.
It’s not even dignified enough to be called a tragedy.
