Joe Lieberman Is Nuts.

By on Jun 11, 2007 in Politics | 0 comments

Joe Lieberman was just on Face The Nation. He’s a complete nut. No matter what question he was asked – Lieberman managed to inject the phrase ‘Iranians are killing Americans’ into each and every sentence he uttered. He said it once, then again, then again, then again and again and again. It started with him saying that he’s just been to ‘the region’ – the only country he mentioned by name was ‘Israel’ – not quite a country as much as a military camp full of genocidal Zionists, but that’s another story for another post. In any case, his point was twofold – that he is an ally of ‘Israel’ and that he’s got the god-given truth from the only ‘trustworthy’ American ally in the Middle East. The Zionists told him so, so it’s just gotta be true. And on he went, about how Iran is...

Bush’s Veto or How To Dismantle A Cretin…

By on May 9, 2007 in Politics | 0 comments

Having just read the text of Bush’s veto statement, I thought it might be worth a quick step-by-step deconstruction, for the benefit of any polar bears on a random island somewhere that may not have given it the once-through. It reeks. “Tonight”, says The Bush, in reassuring tones, “I will explain the reasons for this veto” and effectively, his desire to override Congress. Then, of course, he goes on, heaping one inanity on another. “It makes no sense to tell the enemy when you plan to start withdrawing” he says. Claiming that all the terrorists would then have to do is mark a day on their calendar when it would be safe to take over the major front (as he calls it and will continue to call it throughout his statement) on the ‘war on terror’. Idiotic nonsense. Personally, and this is no great revelation, I think the US has absolutely...

Who’s Afraid of Wolfowitz?

By on Apr 16, 2007 in Politics | 0 comments

Well, perhaps you should be. With a dual American-Israeli citizenship, and strong political alliances, Paul Wolfowitz seems all but invincible. The media, as a whole, seems blind to the perplexing paradox that the current president of the World Bank, ostensibly an organization out to alleviate poverty, and aid development – just happens to be one of the founders of the Project For The New American Century – an organization that propagates an agenda of Military Expansionism with the explicit aim of creating an American Empire. I’ve linked to documentation before, google the damn thing and read. Does that at all seem like a conflict of interest to you? And if not – are you even paying attention? Oh, Kilgore – eat my...

God Bless You, Mr. Vonnegut…

He’s dead. Kurt Vonnegut, author of some truly wonderful books such as ‘God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater’, ‘Slaughterhouse 5’, ‘Deadeye Dick’, and various others is dead. He spent years warning us about ourselves. He wrote and wrote and wrote, and, of course, we ignored his warnings and his alarms. He saw the last few years and realized what a terrible time we’ve been going through, and…well, another sane voice now silenced by time. In 2002, during an interview, reflecting on Bush’s America, he said “our country, for whose Constitution I fought in a just war, might as well have been invaded by Martians and body snatchers. Sometimes I wish it had been.” Thanks, Kurt. And so it...

WorldMapper: Take A Look At The World…

By on Jan 31, 2007 in Graphics, Media, Politics | 0 comments

In case you haven’t run into it, WorldMapper is an absolutely wonderful resource. It is, to quote the blurb, “a collection of world maps, where territories are re-sized on each map according to the subject of interest. 366 maps and PDF posters will be finished by February 2007.” – It’s a huge, and I mean huge eye opener. Wander around. Look. See. A good introductory article to the whole thing can be found here.
