Hell

Hell is a darkness aborting the light and declaring itself to be true. It is cold and it is numb to the touch, and unyielding with certitude. It is a devouring un-tempered by kindness or grace, and it is absolute. Hell is the poverty of the slum in the City of Gold. It is the hunger and the plague in rapt unison with maligned might and counterfeit rights. It is born of puerile pride and nurtured on vanity and a choice not to understand. It is empathy murdered and sympathy derided, it is suffering unconsidered and a man unconcerned.  It is a mother no longer taking care of her child. Hell is a loneliness born of betrayal and fathered by distrust. It is a withdrawal of the light affected through sorrow and pain. It is a grief overcome by sadness and unshed tears.  It is a wounded infant unfamiliar with because.

Belief

Some days I am pantheistic and sophist. I believe not in truth, but in quality, not in the true, but in the good. That we are all alive, that we are all one life, that the universe is breathing, and that we are it’s breath. That there is no history, no past, no future. There cannot be only one. Because there is a lot of pain, and a lot of hurt, and this world is not perfect, and the god who created it cannot be perfect, cannot be this cruel. Cannot have caused all this pain. All this famine. All this war and...

God Is One, Religions Are All Good, Repeat After Me….

Alright, right off the bat, let me say this; I do not, for a moment, believe that religion is what is being fought over. At best, misguided morality is at the steering wheel, and at worst, an economic lust and cultural hubris. However, it’s all over the media…Islam, Christianity, Judaism. It’s all over the place. You want to talk religion? Fine, then let’s talk religion. What do I see? The Judaeo-Christian world ‘evaluating‘ Islam on TV. The power players muttering to their people, under their breath, that all religions are one. And then – what do I hear? “You see, the people who are willing to send young boys to their death in the name of Allah, are now hiding out in caves.” Says Mr. Bush. The man whose government had no qualms about sending its’ own young boys to die in Vietnam – in a ‘Police Action’...

Hi, Take it easy. Be good to somebody today. Or harsh if necessary. God might be on vacation, he’s left us here to do his work. It’s a grave task.
