Bush Likens Democracy Effort in Iraq to That in Postwar Japan – Los Angeles Times

Sure…Blown up kids. Destroyed economy. Disheartened population. Power Cuts. Water shortages. General Misery & Chaos. Over 100,000 innocent civilians murdered by the involvement of the United States…

Yeah, you can see how Iraq is like Japan, surely…

Country gets decimated by the United States and tries as hard as it can to pick up the pieces, while the US tries to keep its nose in there long enough to make sure it puts itself back together again in a form that’s friendly to US interests.

Right.

Meanwhile – taking a page straight out of the PNAC’s book –

“Once again, war came to our shores with a surprise attack that killed thousands in cold blood,” Bush said. “Once again, we face determined enemies who follow a ruthless ideology that despises everything America stands for. Once again, America and our allies are waging a global campaign with forces deployed on virtually every continent. And once again, we will not rest until victory is America’s and our freedom is secure.”

Making things more and more transparent.

Great.
